What is the QEST Award?

The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust is a charity that was set up in 1990 by The Royal Warrant Holder's Association. The charity's purpose is to maintain and encourage the growth of otherwise dying crafts with a view to the scholars passing on their knowledge to the next generation.

In 2009, Jason was lucky enough to be the first to receive a scholarship for classic car restoration. This helped him to further his panel beating and welding skills by funding courses in traditional coach building techniques dating back to the dawn of motoring.

NOW JASON IS PASSING ON THESE SKILLS TO THE NEXT GENERATION OF CLASSIC CAR RESTORERS

Frustrated by the restrictions of a mobile workshop, Jason has recently also set up a brand new workshop in Worcestershire. Here, he and his team are able to combine both modern equipment with traditional techniques. These range from T.I.G welding to the use of the English wheel, a tool originally used not only to make car panels, but also aircraft parts during the second World War. All this helping to preserve our motoring heritage for generations to come.
